- SeaMonkey for PPC is a Web browser that shares much of the same base code as the popular Firefox Web browser. It also contains an advanced e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editor. Since Mozilla has stopped supporting PPC on Macs, I have picked it up and provide the only SeaMonkey version runnable on G4/G5 based Macs.
- We take the industry standard Mozilla Firefox browser and rewrite it to be compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, then compile it specially optimized for your G3, G4 or G5, add AltiVecTM JPEG, HTML and WebM decoding acceleration for G4 and G5 Macintoshes, and soup up JavaScript performance with our best-in-class just-in-time PowerPC script.
Browsers For Mac Computers
I really hate having to buy new macs every few years. Between the machines and the software it is a big investment and a whole lot of time setting things up and learning how to use it.
I usually keep my macs as long as I can. My only problem now is the browsers. Firefox, Chrome and Safari don't seems to want to support 10.5.8. At least FF and Safari run but there are some sites I visit that don't work well with those old versions and the new versions can't be installed on 10.5.8.
Any suggestions on a browser that will let my macs live a little longer?
